Acrylic is often referred to under the brand names which is sold such as Plexiglas, Acrylite, Lucite, Perclax, and Perspex, among several others. It is much safer to build swimming pool windows from acrylic over glass because acrylic has a much higher impact resistance. Glass can shatter under high impact. Acrylic also has other benefits including higher transparency and scratches can easily be removed by polishing.

Panels can be constructed in various shapes and dimensions including curves, L-Shapes, U-Shapes, Curved panels and bonded corners based on customer’s needs. Recently a design trend of cantilevered swimming pools has emerged, often with a clear panel on the floor or side of a swimming pool overhang incorporated as a design feature.

Structural Acrylic Panels

RedFin supply curved or flat acrylic panels for a number of different uses including floor/roof panels, barriers, windows, staircases and wind breaks. RedFin provide structural engineering reports on the products to ensure they meet the necessary standards for their specific use. RedFin can also provide long UV resistance guarantees on acrylic panels to be used outdoors.

Structural Analysis and Panel Thickness Calculation

RedFin have the ability to perform a computerised stress analysis on each panel to ensure it meets its requirements. Water pressure, wind force and other static and dynamic loads can be calculated and programmed into a computer simulation. The program will then show any weaknesses in the panel.
