About Us

Established in 2012, RedFin Aquarium Design is a global specialist in designing, constructing, and operating bespoke aquariums for residential, commercial, and public spaces. With over two decades of combined experience and projects completed in more than 30 countries, RedFin combines global reach with local presence through offices in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong.

The company works closely with homeowners, architects, contractors, and institutions to deliver custom aquatic features for private residences, high-end commercial developments, and large-scale public attractions, including museums, marine parks, and entertainment venues.

RedFin’s multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, aquarists, and project managers provide fully integrated services from concept development and life support system design to fabrication, installation, and ongoing care. With a focus on premium materials, innovative technology, and access to rare aquatic species, RedFin creates breathtaking, one-of-a-kind living art installations worldwide.

Meet the Team

  • James Bruce

    James Bruce

    Managing Director

    James is the managing director of Sanderia Group and has a lifelong passion for aquariums. With a background in engineering, James leads all design and conceptualisation activities for RedFin. Prior to establishing Sanderia Group, James worked as a senior aquarist for Wynn Resorts in Macau, where he was responsible for maintaining the resort’s 11,000 litre Jellyfish aquarium, the largest of its kind in the world at the time.

  • Patrick Twomey

    Patrick Twomey

    Director - Business Development

    Patrick leads RedFin's business development activities and liaises with clients across a range of issues including contracts, logistics, and taxation. Patrick has extensive experience in cross-border trade through roles in Ireland, Belgium and Hong Kong. He holds a degree in Finance from NUI (Ireland) and a Master of International Business from Macquarie University, Australia.

    Robin Bruce

    Design Manager

    Robin gained a BSc Physics with Particle Physics and Cosmology from the University of Swansea. Robin has advanced skills in Autocad and Solidworks drafting. He has designed aquariums and filtration systems for Cairns Aquarium, Seville Aquarium, Valencia Aquarium and Melbourne Aquarium amongst others.

    Senior Project Manager

    Leonard has 15+ years of project management experience across Oil & Gas, Construction, and Retail sector. He has overseen greenfield housing, industrial warehouses, data centres, and regional Nissan showroom projects in Southeast Asia, as well as retail and commercial projects in Marina Bay Sands, China, and Malaysia.

Tony has worked on advanced techniques in coral husbandry and has shared his knowledge globally through lectures, publications, and two bestselling books.
