Abu Dhabi National Aquarium – Jellies Invasion Exhibition

Project Overview

The Abu Dhabi National Aquarium is a premier marine destination in the UAE, offering visitors an immersive journey into the world of marine life. In 2023, it opened the ‘Jellies Invasion’ exhibition to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of jellyfish. The exhibition aims to give visitors an up-close experience of these delicate marine creatures while teaching about their role in the ocean.

RedFin Aquarium was chosen to supply custom jellyfish aquariums for the exhibition. Our goal was to design tanks that are both safe for the jellyfish and visually engaging for visitors. The project highlights RedFin’s ability to combine technical expertise with creative design.

In addition to the standard jellyfish aquariums, RedFin designed and supplied a jellyfish tank styled like an arcade. This playful and creative installation provides a unique viewing experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the jellyfish in an interactive and visually striking environment. It demonstrates RedFin’s ability to combine functional aquarium design with imaginative concepts.

Technical Design

RedFin designed special circular and cylindrical tanks with carefully controlled water flow, filtration systems, and lighting. These features help keep the jellyfish healthy while making their movements and shapes visible to visitors.

The tanks were designed not just for functionality but also to enhance the visitor experience. The smooth water flow allows the jellyfish to move gracefully, while lighting emphasizes their natural colors and patterns.

Manufacturing & Delivery

Each aquarium was manufactured using high-quality materials to ensure clarity, strength, and durability for an immersive visitor experience. RedFin oversaw the complete production process, from concept to shipping, with careful attention to handling the structures and components required for jellyfish husbandry.
